In the midst of the holiday shopping season The Craft Lab and The Waves We Make offer a sustainable alternative to Christmas gifts.
To get inspired, check out our set of 24 video tutorials. We will release one tutorial every day up until christmas eve.
– By upcycling the things we have around us we reduce our consumption, and also increase the life expectancy and quality of things, says Helena Johnzon Dahl, founder of The Waves We Make.
Instead of buying new, we have gathered together a selection of the things that might be broken or were simply ready to get rid of, and turned them into unique gifts to give to loved ones or maybe to keep for yourself.
Make an infinity scarf from family members old garments, where all the pieces represent memories. Or why not turn an old sugarbowl into a smart little sewing caddy? An old trunk that’s been gathering dust in the attic got upcycled into a modern piece of furniture.
We collaborated with The Waves We Make on this project during christmas 2016. The Waves is an online web magazine that aims to inspire to a sustainable lifestyle.
