Mini artwork with Gelli plate
Have you ever tried printing with a Gelli plate?
There is no greater feeling than being creative with papers you´ve printed yourself. You can use them in your art, bind a sketchbook, fold an origami box or why not scan in the prints and create something exciting with them in Photoshop.
Craft Space hosted a workshop on how to use a Gelli plate with the theme “colors, monoprinting and mark making”. The students were guided through different techniques to create intriguing pattern and textures using sponges, textured rollers, homemade combs, stencils, and rubber stamps.
We experimented with paints and created patterns using embossed papers, lace, corrugated cardboard and much more.
The workshop was a great experience with students from India, Poland, Sweden and Croatia. After a short intro we went through the step by step exercises and after a few minutes the table was filled with amazing creations. To meet new friends like this and inspire others to more creativity is such a beautiful thing.
Hosting this workshop together with Ann-Charlotte definitely boosted my energy levels!
