Intro to block printing

26/04/2018 6:00 pm 400 SEK

Have you ever wanted to create your own print design? Maybe create your own greeting cards,  posters or statement t-shirts with unique hand carved stamps? Join us in this block printing workshop, April 26, where we carve our own printing blocks in linoleum and rubber. This is an excellent technique for producing something that is truly handmade and that can be easily replicated.

Block printing is essentially using a carved material covered in ink to transfer an image on to paper or fabric. The technique is one of the easiest printing methods to get started with, since the materials needed to start are relatively inexpensive, and you don’t need a lot of equipment for printing. It’s a great way to get into printmaking!

The process includes sketching the design, carving the design and finally printmaking.

During this event we will get familiar with the printing process with a focus on carving so have your design ideas ready! Check out our blog post on how to block print for more inspiration.
