Join us in this two-step workshop where we create 3D art and get an introduction to working with resin as a sealer and as an adhesive.
Maybe you´ve seen the glass-like dandelion paperweights, that’s resin for you! The possibilities of embedding textures and objects to create interesting eye-candy are endless. The resin creates a hard shiny finish, it stiffens up a paper and it makes the colors vibrant.
We have emptied out our stash and prepared a smorgasbord of embellishment to get your hands on, from sequins, glitter, paper, gold leaf to buttons, washi tape, lace, and much more.
The use of resin is very diverse and the goal of this workshop is to show you a vast use of the material and inspire you to create nice finishes. Whether it be coating your artwork, making your own jewelry or creating cool finishes using resin as a super strong adhesive.
Each student will be working on a 10×10 cm wood panel to create a mini artwork. Bring your own papers, textiles, and textures or pick from a selection of provided materials. Once you are satisfied with your artwork, you will pour the resin and coat your artwork.
With ultra-fast resin adhesive, you can embellish different objects like wood, shells and oddly shaped stones by covering the surface it in pieces of bead, sequins or stone powder.
Once the resin is set, takes at least 48 hours, it´s time for the finishing touches. You might want to sand down the edges, or cover it in more embellishment. We also continue to work with embellishing different objects.
Et voila! 3D art is ready!
